SportLoMo was delighted to attend the Volleyball England Cup Finals Weekend 2026 at Loughborough University, at the kind invitation of Volleyball England and CEO Charlie Ford.
Seamus Kyne, CEO, and Vivienne Lee, Marketing Director, were pleased to join the Volleyball England team for a fantastic weekend of finals, celebration and reflection. The event brought together players, coaches, volunteers, officials, staff and supporters from across the volleyball community, and was a fitting showcase for the strength and spirit of the sport.

Across the weekend, the Cup Finals delivered brilliant competition, including London Giants and Durham Palatinates completing memorable victories on day one, and a dramatic Men’s National Shield Final on day two, where Darkstar Derbyshire defeated Legends in a five-set final.
A particular highlight was Volleyball England’s 70th Anniversary Ceremony, which celebrated the people, milestones and moments that have shaped the sport over seven decades. Deputy CEO Guin Batten gave a powerful presentation tracing volleyball’s journey from Dr Don Anthony’s original vision through to the modern game. Matt Halfpenny was tasked with the job of interviewing the guests on each of the panel.

It was a privilege to be part of such a special weekend, marking both the excitement of Cup Finals and the 70th anniversary of Volleyball England.
