Collecting fees across multiple tiers of a sport is one of the most time-consuming parts of administration. Clubs chase payments. Provinces wait on clubs. Governing bodies reconcile spreadsheets and invoices. Even when registration is online, fee collection often remains fragmented.
SportLoMo Split Payments was built to remove that friction. Read more to understand why our sports love ‘Split Pay’.

What Split Payments does
With Split Payments, a member registers once and makes one online payment. That single transaction is then automatically distributed at source across the agreed tiers of the organisation—such as the governing body, province/region, association/league and club.
This means:
- Each tier is paid directly in to their own bank account, without manual invoicing
- Payments are up to date as soon as the member registers
- Finance teams avoid weeks of follow-up and reconciliation
- Clubs and governing bodies can trust the same payment record
How it works in practice
- The organisation defines a fee structure (for example, national + regional + club).
- Each tier can set its own fee amount within the agreed model.
- The member pays once during registration and auto-receives a payment confirmation by email
- Funds are distributed automatically to the relevant organisations – direct to their bank.
SportLoMo supports splitting the total fee across multiple recipients (commonly two or three tiers; up to five where required).
Club fees remain independent
Split Payments does not force clubs into a one-size model. Clubs can:
- Add their own fees into the same registration journey (so the member still pays once), or
- Collect club fees independently, if they prefer
Where club fees are included, the club can also add its own registration fields and terms—such as next of kin, jersey size, medical details or local consents—without affecting the governing body’s core registration process.
Club funds are paid directly to the club’s bank account, and club administrators control their own fee and data requirements within the agreed structure.

Payments security and compliance
SportLoMo began developing split-fee functionality in 2017 with a Canadian company (Paysafe) and now delivers this capability using Stripe Connect. Payments are processed securely through Stripe’s compliant infrastructure.
SportLoMo and our sports organisations do not receive or store sensitive card or bank details. Financial data is encrypted and handled through secure payment processing channels.
Why our sports love Split Payments

- Improves cashflow for governing bodies and regions
- Reduces admin overhead for clubs
- Gives finance teams cleaner reconciliation
- Increases confidence that fees are paid correctly, at the right tier, at the right time
