Behind the Scenes with Rugby Europe in Andorra

    By Williams Ganley, SportLoMo

I was delighted to spend a fantastic few days in Andorra working with Rugby Europe during the Men’s 7s Conference 1 and Women’s 7s Conference 1 tournaments, held from 12th–14th July 2026 at the Andorra National Stadium.

My role involved supporting data entry and competition management throughout the event, helping to ensure matches, results and tournament information were accurately managed in real time.

It was a great opportunity to once again work alongside the Rugby Europe team and contribute to the delivery of another successful international tournament.

Having also supported the Rugby Europe Championship Finals in Hamburg last year, it has been brilliant to experience both of these events from behind the scenes and to see first-hand the dedication, professionalism and attention to detail that goes into organising them.

The standard of rugby on display was excellent throughout the weekend. Although I was there in an operational role, I still had the opportunity to enjoy some outstanding rugby, with the pace, skill and competitiveness on display reflecting the continued growth of the game across Europe.

A sincere thank you to Rugby Europe, the tournament organisers, volunteers, officials and hosts for making the event such a memorable experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn, contribute and meet so many passionate people involved in the game.
