Concussion, Injury & Incident Management Module (Release: Early 2023)

SportLoMo’s Concussion & Incident Management module was released in early 2023 as a standalone, integrated capability for organisations that need clear, consistent injury reporting and oversight. While elements of incident logging existed previously, the module was significantly expanded to support structured workflows, role-based access and audit-ready records across the sport.

    american football match and referee

Built for sports where concussion risk is real

This module is particularly relevant for contact and collision sports, and any environment where return-to-play decisions must be managed carefully—such as rugby, lacrosse, American football, ice hockey, soccer, boxing and other high-impact formats.

    What the module supports

    • Incident capture at the point of occurrence (match, training, event)
    • Structured concussion workflows, including assessment steps and follow-up actions
    • Role-based permissions, so medical and safeguarding roles see what they need, without exposing unnecessary data
    • Linked records attached to the participant profile, the match/event, and relevant staff/officials
    • Clear status tracking (e.g., reported, under review, cleared, return-to-play approved)
    • Audit trails showing who recorded, reviewed and updated each case and when
    • Reporting and oversight at club, league and governing body level, based on your organisational structure

    Why it matters

Concussion and injury management is not just about recording an incident—it’s about ensuring consistent decision-making and clear accountability across teams, clubs and competitions. By treating concussion and injury incidents as structured records (not loose notes or emails), organisations can improve player welfare, reduce risk and support safer participation.
