Child Protection Officer Verification
SportLoMo has introduced an enhanced ‘Welfare Officer Verification’ feature, designed to bolster governance and safeguarding practices for sport’s governing bodies. This feature, known by various names such as Child Protection Officer Verification (CPO-verify), Welfare Officer Verification (WO-verify) aims to ensure that safeguarding remains a top priority. All sports are aware that it is essential to ensure that all individuals working with children and vulnerable individuals comply with safeguarding regulations.
This functionality was developed primarily in response to a request from Ireland Rugby (IRFU), a long-standing SportLoMo customer and it is currently utilised by their Child Welfare Officers (CWOs). The Verification tool is now available for use across other sports on our platform.
This responsibility verification ensures that Welfare Officers are fully aware of their obligations and that all necessary checks and approvals are completed according to good governance practices. Another popular component is the ability to securely store signed PDFs as official records, ensuring that all documentation is properly archived and easily accessible whenever needed.
The new Verification feature is fully customisable and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each governing body. It is also adaptable, allowing it to be used in other areas and for other verification processes across the platform.
